JobIt respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It also outlines additional disclosures for visitors subject to the GDPR and other global privacy rules.
1. Information we collect
We collect information to deliver and improve our job management platform and services.
1.1 Information you provide
Account details: name, email, phone, company, role, team size
Business information: ABN, trading name, address
Billing and payment details: billing address, transaction data, last four digits of card. Card data is processed by our payment provider and is not stored on JobIt servers
Customer and job records you upload: client names, addresses, photos, documents, quotes, invoices, job notes, timesheets, signatures
Support and communications: emails, chat messages, feedback, survey responses
1.2 Information collected automatically
Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, features used, time and date of access
App telemetry: performance metrics, crashes, diagnostics

1.3 Information from third parties
Integrations you connect: accounting platforms such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks; payments such as Stripe; communications tools such as email and SMS gateways
Public or partner sources: business registries, marketing partners, referral programs
2. How we use your information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
Provide, operate, and maintain the JobIt platform and mobile apps
Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and secure access
Process quotes, jobs, timesheets, invoices, and payments
Provide onboarding, training, customer support, and service communications
Send transactional notices such as job reminders, invoice reminders, and system alerts
Improve and develop features through analytics, research, and product testing
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
Marketing with your consent or as permitted by law. You can opt out at any time
Legal bases for processing under GDPR (when applicable): performance of a contract, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and consent.
3. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:
Service providers and subprocessors that help us host, deliver, and support the platform. Examples include cloud hosting, analytics, email and SMS delivery, customer support tools, and payment processing
Integration partners when you connect them, for example Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Stripe
Professional advisers such as lawyers, auditors, and insurers
Authorities when required by law, regulation, or court order
Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We will notify you before any change of control affects your personal information
We require service providers to implement appropriate security and process data only on our instructions.
4. International data transfers
JobIt may store and process data in Australia or other countries where our providers operate. When we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with the APPs and, where relevant, GDPR requirements.
5. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business purposes, including record keeping, compliance, and dispute resolution. When information is no longer required, we will delete or de-identify it. You can request deletion of your account data. Some records may be retained where the law requires.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. Measures include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication, backups, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will follow the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act and notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how JobIt is used.

Strictly necessary: required for login and core functionality
Functional: remember settings and preferences
Analytics: help us improve the product with aggregated insights
Marketing: used to measure campaign performance, only with your consent
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect functionality.
8. Your rights
Under the APPs and, where applicable, GDPR, you may have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you
Request corrections if your information is inaccurate or incomplete
Request deletion, restriction, or de-identification, subject to legal requirements
Object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
Data portability for information you provided in a structured, commonly used format
Lodge a complaint with the OAIC or your local supervisory authority

9. Children’s privacy
JobIt does not target or knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us to remove it.
10. Third-party links and integrations
Our website and apps may link to third-party sites or allow you to connect integrations. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Review their policies before enabling integrations or submitting information.
11. Communications and marketing
We may send you service and transactional emails that are necessary for your account. For marketing emails and SMS, you can opt out using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Opting out will not affect essential service communications.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, or our practices. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice.
